Elkhart Municipal Band Free Spring Concert

This program features the original works of Alfred Reed, with music from his life experiences in military band, network media arranging, and teaching. Highlights are Armenian Dances, Mary Poppins, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. Alfred Reed music lovers will recognize his style of composing for his radio, television and film career work.

As a serviceman during World War II and a member of the Air Force Band, Reed’s patriotism is displayed in his dramatic piece, “Rushmore”, which will conclude the afternoon as the band’s salute to all members of the Armed Forces.

“Bands Are For People” , quoted from former director Art Singleton.
