Time Capsule in Elkhart Will Be Unveiled

May 14, 2012

The contents of a time capsule pulled from a cornerstone of the old Bayer building about six weeks ago will be unveiled to the public on May 22, Mayor Dick Moore announced Friday.

Workers discovered the greenish, discolored copper box March 28 while moving the “grand steps” of the front entrance of the old Bayer building.

The unveiling will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lerner Theater, 410 S. Main St.

Based on a story found in an old copy of the Miles Internal newspaper, “The Alkalizer,” items in the box could include documents related to the company’s growth and personnel.
