Lerner Brings Two Events Friday Night with Grammy Winner, Nominee

The Lerner Theatre has two major spaces � the theater and the Crystal Ballroom. And Friday night, both will be full of talent.

Grammy-nominated artist Syleena Johnson will perform in the Crystal Ballroom along with Big Bub. Now a solo artist, Big Bub was part of Today, an R&B group formed in the late 1980s.

Legendary Christian singer and five-time Grammy award winner Sandi Patty and Christian writer Patsy Clairmont will perform as part of the �Get Yer Happy On.�

Patty is a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and was named an Indiana Living Legend in 2007. Clairmont is a bestselling author and speaker who uses humor and insight in her writing.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $23 general admission, $17 for groups of 10 or more for general admission and $32.50 for early entry.

Johnson and rapper Kanye West were nominated for the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammy in 2005 for �All Falls Down,� a duet off West�s album, �The College Dropout.� She also had a minor role in the song�s music video.

Her last album, �Chapter V: Underrated,� came out in September 2011. Her talent is hereditary � blues and R&B singer Syl Johnson, who played with Magic Sam and Howlin� Wolf � is her father.

Dinner will start at 8 p.m. and the show will be at 9 p.m. Tickets are $45 for both dinner and the concert and $35 for concert only.
