“A Lerner Christmas” Opens

December 15, 2012

Premier Arts’ original performance, “A Lerner Christmas,” opened Friday night for a three-day run at the Lerner Theatre.

Between 1,200 and 1,300 people attended the first night’s show, which features 211 local performers singing, dancing and acting, making the show one of Premier Arts’ largest to date.

“It’s sold really, really well,” said Premier Arts’ artistic director Craig Gibson. “We do remarkably well for the size of town we are.”

Different styles of music and entertainment, including dancing reindeer, Beach Boys-style music, tap dancers and even disco, are featured in the holiday performance that covers the story of Jesus Christ’s birth through the arrival of Santa Claus, and everything in between.

There will be two more chances to see the show, which has a running time of about 90 minutes. One performance begins tonight at 7:30 p.m., with the second beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday. Doors open an hour before each show.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and $12 for children 12 and younger.
